Day trip by car to Blashford Lakes, Hants

Thursday 15th February, 2024

The lakes here can host all sorts of wildfowl, waders and gulls, while the woodland hide can often reveal a few difficult species. Birds such as Water Rail and Water Pipit are not uncommon and the site boasts a good list of other scarce and rare birds.

Late afternoon outing at Gorrick Plantation, Crowthorne

A short walk to see Woodcock as they fly out from their winter woodland roost.

RSPB Wokingham & Bracknell Local Group day trip by coach to Slimbridge WWT

Sunday 14th January, 2024

The Slimbridge experience is unique, with an extensive collection of wetland birds surrounded by a patchwork of water, marsh and fields, where thousands of wild birds gather. Rarities are frequent. The facilities and food are excellent.

Charge TBA, additional entry charge for those not members of WWT.

Pick-ups 07:30 at Finchampstead Village Hall and 08:00 at Reading University car park 1A, Shinfield Road main entrance (SU728719, RG6 6UR). Free parking.
