Volunteering

There are conservation projects across Berkshire that rely on volunteers to manage habitats, create bird-watching facilities, help visitors etc. Here are a few; please follow the links for details:

The Friends of Fobney manage Fobney Island nature reserve with Reading Borough Council. More details on our Fobney page.

Lavell’s Wetland Trust: manages habitats and hides at Dinton Pastures Country Park and at the nearby Lea Farm Lake. FOLL holds monthly work parties.

Moor Green Lakes Group manage a large area of lakes and wetlands north of the River Blackwater, near Sandhurst.

Theale Area Bird Conservation Group: manages habitats at Hosehill Lake (with BBOWT) and other sites in the lower Kennet. TABCG holds work parties on Saturdays. Contact Cathy McEwan for information

CRoW (Conserve Reading on Wednesdays) holds work parties monthly on Wednesdays.

Friends of the Loddon help BBOWT manage the area around the Loddon reserve in Twyford. Work parties are held on the 4th Saturday of each month.
