Photographic Competition 2015

This years competition had 180 entries and was again of excellent quality. Due to a small but vital technical hitch we had insufficient time to show all the entries but those selected by the judges were all shown and commented upon.

The winner of the Gordon Langsbury Memorial Trophy was the winner of the Action category, Eider and young by Bill Watts. This image captured the birds perfectly and managed to get the most perfect focus on the breaking wave – a very exceptional result. The vote was far from unanimous, the winners of the Flight and Portrait categories were both well supported on the night but not quite enough to beat Bill’s image.

Our thanks go to London Camera Exchange for the prizes, to the judges for their hard work and skilful comments and of course to the members who entered their work to entertain us all so well.
