We are offering six watercolours by the late Robert Gillmor MBE for sale at auction, on 7th March 2024. Robert was a President emeritus of the Berkshire Ornithological Club, and was a member from 1948 until his death in 2022. Among his many contributions to the Club, he provided artworks for every cover of the Birds of Berkshire Annual Reports from 1949 until his death. He donated the original artworks to us so we could use them to raise funds.
Six of these paintings are now being put up for auction at Dominic Winter auctioneers, with a catalogue estimate of £200-300 each. They are shown below, with details of which report they were on. This is the last opportunity to acquire any of the artworks that Robert produced for the Club.
Robert was a highly acclaimed artist, a founding member of the Society of Wildlife Artists and an important member of several conservation organisations. He was awarded an MBE in 2015 for his services to art and conservation.
