The new programme of indoor and outdoor events is now published, with all events listed up to July 2018.
Indoor events include talks by some of the country’s most eminent ornithologists and by several highly-acclaimed wildlife photographers, as well as offerings from local members. There is both variety and novelty, since topics this year range from hummingbirds to bird intelligence, and from the frozen north to the tropical east . There should be something for everyone, so browse through and mark your diary with the dates. All indoor events are free to members and visitors are always welcome for a small entry fee.
The outdoor activities include a variety of weekday and weekend events, which range from the very local to further afield. As always these will be led by a team of volunteers who all know their sites and their birds well, so we welcome people of all skill levels to join in whenever they can: it’s a great way to learn and share. We travel to some events by car and to others by coach: if you are not a driver, you can often negotiate a lift, but the coaches take you with ease to some of the country’s most important nature reserves. Together, these trips cover a huge range of habitats and a great variety of birds.
We work hard to make these events a core of the club’s activities, so please give them your support whenever possible: it can easily become a life-style!
